Alfa Sunrisers Planning for the Future Survey

With all that has happened in the past few months, it is time to re-assess the direction you the membership want your club to go in. With Alfa closing its doors, fuel prices’ climbing out of sight, your input is most important to the future direction of our club. Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey and send it to John Croes, our events Coordinator who will use this information when we have open discussions at the next 3 rallies this year. Even if you plan to attend one or all of the rallies, please send in your survey form so we will have a better idea of the direction you want to see us take in order to present the survey results at the meetings to be held at each of the next 3 rallies. Our by-laws will have to be modified to reflect the wishes of the club membership. Note: RV is used in this survey to reflect both 5^th wheel RV’s as well as motor homes

1) With Alfa no longer in business, should we continue to be an Alfa only club or should we admit people with other brands of RV? (circle one)

Alfa RV only allowed for full membership
Once a member, always a member regardless of brand (if I trade, I can still remain a member if I so choose)
Let anyone join our club regardless of make of their RV
Make it Alfa only for 3-4 years then allow membership to all brands of RVs

2) The future direction of the Alfa Sunrisers should be: (circle one)

· Same focus as in the past-part social, part technical assistance

· With Alfa out of the picture, increase the focus on technical seminar assistance both at rallies and on the website.

· I don’t care for the technical seminars-I have all my work done at an RV repair shop.

3) Rising fuel prices will impact my travels: (circle all that apply)

· None at all-This is our retirement dream and we plan to live it!

· We will judge each rally on its merits and location-fuel costs will weigh on our travel plans

· We will not be traveling to more than one or two rallies each year

· We will only consider rallies that are within 300 miles of home

· We are full timers and will schedule our travels around rallies

· We are planning to sell our RV and get out of the club

4) The web site: (circle one)

· We go to the web site at least once a week-GREAT tool-helps us stay in touch with club and technical information

· We know there is a web site but we do not use it much

· We would like to use the web site more but do not really understand enough to navigate very well around the various links

· A web site? Did not know we even had one active

5) When we attend rallies, the activity we enjoy most is: (circle one)

· Technical seminars or discussions

· Meal time and pot lucks

· Spending time with other club members

· Free time to explore local attractions on our own

· Planned events or tours of a local or nearby attraction

· Evening get togethers for cards or sing alongs

6) If increased dues or wagon master fees become necessary to fund liability costs, it will: (circle one)

· Not impact us in the least- we understand the need to protect the membership of the club from liability issues

· Make us think twice about attending rallies or remaining club members-would like to know more about this

· Cause us to leave the club-do not want any additional costs; fuel is already hurting our RV activities budget

7) Location of future rallies (circle all that apply)

· Will attend rallies close to home

· Will decide after seeing location and events planned if we will travel beyond 200-300 miles away from home

· Would like more rallies held at events like the Tampa RV Show

· Would like to see more Alfa Sunrisers club publicity and active participation in FMCA (Alfa See Ya’s) rallies.
