While at the FMCA rally in Perry Ga, this past week, we attended 4 seminars by Jim and Chris Guld who call themselves Geeks on Tour. I have cut and pasted their welcome letter to us for you. We found their seminars extremely interesting and ended up buying their forum service and DVD's. So here it is FYI:
Geeks on Tour Newsletter!
This newsletter is a 100% free service. We also offer lots of free
information on our website. The one thing we charge for is our
tutorial videos. There are over 140 tutorial videos on our
website. A one year membership, which gives you access to over
140 videos *and* our members Q&A forum, costs $39. See
www.geeksontour.com/membership for further information.
Let me introduce ourselves: we are Jim and Chris Guld and we have
both been computer support professionals since the early 80s. Now
we are full-time RVers and we love to help fellow travelers with
their computers. You can see our personal travel blog at
www.geeksontour.blogspot.com.
Our business is Computer Education for Travelers. That means we
teach topics that we know are of interest to Travelers, such as:
- How to get connected to the Internet while on the road. Wi-Fi,
Satellite, and Cellular
- How to manage all those photos! We think that Picasa, a free
download from Google, is the best.
- How to share your travels by having a simple website, a Blog, for
text and pictures.
- How to maintain your computer and keep it safe when you have to
be your own 'computer guy'!
- How to research destinations with Google Earth and Google Maps
and more
We do this teaching by offering seminars at RV Parks and Rallies,
(www.geeksontour.com/seminars.cfm); with Video Tutorials on
our website (www.geeksontour.com) or on disk
(http://www.geeksontour.com/shopping.cfm), and with our
Newsletter. A collection of all our articles can be found on http://blog.geeksontour.com.
You will be receiving several 'Get Acquainted' emails in the first
2 weeks to bring you up to speed with the topics we cover. Then,
you can expect a newsletter email from us once or twice each
month. You will also get a quick note from us any time we post
something new on the website.
Make sure to visit our home page at www.geeksontour.com and view
the free featured video there. We change the featured video
every month. As a newsletter subscriber, you will receive an
email when we feature a different video.
Happy Computing!
Jim and Chris Guld (and Odie)
